Adepticon 2013

So, I have been a bit errant in my blogging. I won't try and bury you all with a catch up since my last post of what? 2011 Adepticon? Haha. Anyhow, what has happened.. 6th Edition. And I love it. It has fit my play style more than any edition before it. (4th Edition Blood Angels were the last thing to really make me a happy camper.)
So, the question is what am I rocking now? After my 5th Edition post on what army to build next, I decided to do an Eldar/Harlequin half breed list that was fun to play and still fluffy. This list has evolved into 6th edition and has taken on Dark Eldar allies. (Though the Tau could be making an appearance, I really like the idea of marauding Harlequins backed up by Rail Guns.)

Anyone who knows me well, knows I am just rather lazy when it comes to painting anything outside of Space Marines. So my army is in a varied state of paint, and I really need to buckle down and just finish it, and to purchase a few pieces I have so far been subbing.

What I can say for my Army though is that it's first encounters in 6th edition have been pleasant. It's a solid core and has the potential to really grab objectives while laying waste to the opponent. With some 2+ rerollable invulnerable save shenanigans it is also a damage sponge, and the amount of wounds the harlequins have soaked up is laughable.

What the army did not plan for given the new Meta of the game is much anti-tank, which I had to address after realising I was pretty much stuck watching a land raider parade across the map untouched. This has now been accounted for and the Eldar/Dark Eldar alliance brought on by a talented and stubborn Solitaire will indeed be making a showing at Adepticon 2013.

Hoping to hook up with the Dark Future Games guys for some good drinks, good food, and perhaps a friendly game or three. As I will STILL not be attending a single tournament in the event due to the fact that it sells out at a rate that is insane. One year.... I will make it into that tourney :P

What to do?!

Well, friendly neighborhood readers, I am suffering a dilemma.. I have the means, and the desire to start a new Army. My problem is, I have a few different styles of army I am looking into and am at an impasse as to what to buy.
So, allow me to put up generic lists, as the specifics still aren't solidified and you tell me what sounds fun...
oh, and for the purpose of making sure im playing something neat and new... I now have a Razorspam BloodAngel army, a GK Landraider based army, Chaos Daemons (I know, I know, but they looked great on paper.), Eldar Harlequins ala Fritz40k and a Khorne army, from back when Khorne was cool.
Please note these are all 2k lists, I can always scale down.
So, up first is a GK Henchie army thanks to Coteaz.
  1. 4 Jokaero in Chimeras x 3
  2. 7 man squads of Death cult assassins backed up by 3 henchies with meltas. In Rhinos. x3
  3. 2 Ven and 3 support dreads all psyflemen (Psybolt with two twinklinked a.c. arms)

Next up Is a Dark Eldar list..

  1. Lots of raiders with 5xwracks w a liquifier.
  2. a haemonculus as a HQ choice, making wracks troops.
  3. A few trueborn with dark lances.
  4. ravagers with DL and flickerfields x3
  5. BeastMasters with flocks and khymaera
  6. One squad of clowns, because I <3 them.

And finally a SW army. Lots of melta and missiles and mark of the wulfens.

So, what do you think lovely readers? which to go with?

Adepticon afterthoughts..

Well, Adepticon 2011 is over. I and Lennon attended with his gf, (who, is, by the way an avid warhammer player and has an impressive demon army.) So, here are my afterthoughts. It was completely awesome to see forgeworld in attendance. And upon attending both Adepticon and GenCon, I would have to say that event for event Adepticon packs more punch for a miniature gamer. I got to meet some interesting and fun guys in the form of dark future games. And I and Lennon had a blast. Lots of great restraunts, and some awesome tourneys going on. Lennon also got to see me nearly lose it over a game, which I'm sure was a treat.. lol. I have been doing very well in trying to be agreeable and friendly in friendly games.. This one was very trying. So, hot tubs, great food, free beer.. really there was nothing not to love.. Adepticon, I will be there next year, and Im coming for your trophies!
